Cong's central leadership takes 36 hours to condole Mangat Ram's demise | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 4: Central leadership of Congress, which was very swift in reaching Jawahar Lal Nehru (JNU) campus to support those who vowed to break India into pieces earlier this year, took 36 hours to condole death of great leader of Jammu, Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma. Political stalwart of Jammu, Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma breathed his last at 9.30 am on November 2 but central leadership of Congress issued official condolence message for this leader at 4.25 pm on November 3, which reflects approach of the leadership of this "great grand party" towards Jammu's leaders. Mangat Ram Sharma, who was once Congress's face in the whole state in general and Jammu province in particular, but before he death he was humiliated by the same party. During its tenure in power from 2008 to 2014, the incumbent Congress leadership at the Centre humiliated him so badly. Pandit Mangat Ram Sharma died on Thursday morning but no official handout was issued by the AICC to mourn his death despite the fact that nation media has flashed news of the death of political stalwart. Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad was here in Jammu on Thurday so he was first to reach residence of Pt Mangat Ram Sharma but no other central leader visit Jammu today. Today at 4.25 pm, handout was issued by the state Congress in which it was mentioned that Congress President Sonia Gandhi has deeply condoled the sad demise of Former Deputy Chief Minister and veteran leader Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma. According to the handout, "In her condolence message, Madam Gandhi recalled the long association of the Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma with the party and his services to the people of the state in different capacities . She conveyed her heartfelt condolences to the family and prayed for peace to the departed soul". AICC vice president Sh. Rahul Gandhi has also deeply condoled the sad demise of veteran leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma and remembered his services to the Congress party and people of the State, during his entire public life. AICC general Secretary Incharge J&K affair Smt. Ambika Soni has expressed deep shock over the sad demise of Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma, Former DY CM and veteran Congress Leader and described her death as great loss to people of the State. |
