Srinagar, Nov 4: Expressing serious concern over burning of schools in Kashmir, the students today expressed apprehensions about their safety saying their lives seems 'unsafe' in such circumstances. Many students while expressing satisfaction over relaxation in syllabus announced by the authorities have urged the government to take measures for their safety.
Taha Ashraf, a class 10th student said: "We may be forced to appear in exams as the government without listening to our genuine grievances went ahead with its decision, but I want to ask a genuine question to the people sitting at the helm of affairs as to what measures they have taken for our safety."
The 10th class student claimed that the students have been in perplexity since the onset of the present uprising in Kashmir and there seems no end to their problems.
"We will appear in exams and try our hard best to clear the level, but what about our safety, schools and colleges are burnt here on daily basis then how could we enter the examination centers in such crucial situation ,"Arsalan Tanveer another student from Khanyar area of the city said.
He said that the students were protesting over the genuine issue as sixty percent of their syllabus was incomplete.
"If the government is really serious about our future we will appear in exams, but how could we put our lives in trouble at a time when schools are being torched everywhere in Kashmir," he said.
He said that the government seems least bothered about the safety of the children and much concerned about their future. "It is an irony, the adamant government seems much concerned about our future, we are scapegoats and don't know what is going to happen, if government is really serious to hold exams we are ready but the responsibility of any untoward incident shall lie on it," said Arsalan.
