New LeT recruit arrested with arms, ammunition | | | S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report Baramulla, Nov 4: A newly recruited LeT terriorist was arrested late Thursday in Sopore town an war like store was recovered from his possession. A senior police official said that following a tip off about the presence of terriorist in Tujjer Shareef area in Bomia police jurisdiction, a joint team of police, Army's 22 RR and CRPF cordoned off the whole area and during search operation in Shiripora Mohalla, the terriorist of LeT outfit, Umar Khaliq Mir alias Sameer was arrested and some arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession including AK-47 rifle, pouch, 2 Grenades, 2 magazines. The local terriorist was active in the area from past several months as he had joined the Lashkar-e Toiba (LeT) terriorist outfit in May this year, the official added. Police official told early Times that, a case vide First Information Report (FIR) no: 142/2016 (US 7/25 Arms Act) has been registered in police station Bomia Sopore. However sources said that, the father of the terriorist and other respectable citizens of the area had told him (terriorist) to surrender before the police but he denied. The security forces approached the particular house where the terriorist was hiding, a joint team of police and army apprehended him without any disturbances, while as heavy arms and ammunitions were recovered from his possession, said sources. Sources further said that, the arrested terriorist was involved in instigating and pushing the youth of Sopore town for stone pelting and anti India processions. |
