JU's VC continues to favour 'own people' | Single teacher assigned Persian & Arabic subjects | | ET Report Jammu, Nov 4: The Vice-Chancellor Jammu University continuous to make mockery of the existing norms by patronizing 'blue eyed' candidates. Due to maladministration at the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), an incompetent person, who's favourite of the VC and heads the Directorate, has failed to differentiate between two subjects-Persian and Arabic- and has assigned the task of teaching to a single teacher. Sources revealed that for fortnight long Personal Contact Program (PCP) classes of BA Part-III being held in DDE since Oct 17, the task of teaching Persian and Arabic subjects has been assigned to Dr Aijaz Shah. A senior professor teaching Persian commented that the authorities at the helm in DDE had befooled the distance learners as Persian and Arabic are entirely different from each other. "How can single teacher teach both the subjects that too at B.A. level," he asked, adding that only an irrational and incompetent person can approve this decision. An expert of Arabic also expressed similar views and said that the DDE Director and the concerned Course Coordinator were incompetent, as they didn't understand the fact that Arabic and Persian were two subjects and taught differently. "This is pathetic, and the VC must ask the DDE to explain the reason behind this move. And, the concerned Course Coordinator shall be removed from the position for this blunder," the expert added. If sources are to be believed Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, who is heading DDE, has not taught a single class of his subject for the last 10 years. But he was been given administrative charge. |
