Jammu, Nov 4 : Principal sessions judge, Kathua, Vinod Chatterji Koul has constituted Committee Core Groups for the victims of border firing.
He formed the committee in compliance to the directions of high court Chief Justice and patron-in-chief of J&K State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, who is also SLSA executive chairman.
The committee has been constituted in terms of section 12(e) of the JK SLSA Act, 1997, to ensure immediate help of the government and non-government agencies for providing relief to victims.
It supervises the distribution of relief material to victims, construction of temporary shelters for them at safer places, re-union of families, health and care for sanitation and prevention of spreading of epidemics, needs of women and children, availability of food, medicines and drinking water and construction of damaged houses. A temporary legal core and support centre is also established at Londi for providing assistance and help to the victims.(JNF) |
