3 residential houses gutted, 2 partially damaged in Kishtwar inferno | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report
Kishtwar Nov 4: In another tragic fire incident, 6th in last three weeks, three residential houses were completely gutted while two other were partially damaged in Hidyal area in the outskirts of Kishtwar town. As per the details available with "Early Times" the fire broke out in the house of Jagdish Kumar at around 7.30 PM and spread to other houses belonging to Jagdish Kumar, Veer Singh and Satish Kumar while the house of Prahalad Baghat and Gansham Shan were partially damaged. As soon as the news of fire broke out, large number of youths including those from majority community immediately rushed to the spot and joined Kishtwar police team headed by SHO Police Station Kishtwar Sameer Jeelani in rescue and relief operation. With the joint efforts of youths along with Police and Red Cross volunteer Asgar Ali Sheikh major tragedy was averted as the area is densely populated. Several people while talking to "Early Times" hailed the efforts of youth in playing the lead role in dousing the fire. The preliminary reports suggested that the fire was caused due to leakage of LPG Cylinder, however Police have registered the case and started investigations. The fire victims collectively suffered the losses to the tune of over Rs. 1 crore. |
