Govt formation: State BJP leaders kept out of negotiations
1/22/2016 11:37:00 PM
Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 22: As negotiations between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and People's Democratic Party (PDP) are on to form the coalition Government in the State, the BJP leaders from JK have been asked to "maintain silence" and "remain patient" till a breakthrough is achieved. Sources told Early Times that none of the BJP leaders from Jammu and Kashmir have been involved in the negotiations and Central leadership is holding back channel talks with the PDP. "It's unfortunate that none of the BJP leaders from JK have been made a part of the negotiation process," said a BJP insider. "Our senior leaders should have been taken on board to ensure that coalition if formed runs smoothly," said a BJP leader. Sources claimed that PDP has made it clear that it's not interested in holding talks with the State BJP leaders and all the issues would be sorted out with the Central leadership. "PDP has taken a strong note about a few BJP leaders having held negotiations with the National Conference to form the Government," sources added. They said, "Prior to PDP...

Kashmiris by and large ignore Geelani's diktats
1/22/2016 11:36:33 PM
Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 22: Fed up of separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani's frequent strike calls, the people of Kashmir have finally started countering his diktats by doing exactly the opposite of what the pro-Pakistan hawk wants them to do. For January 21, Geelani had given directions for area wise strikes in Kashmir over separate issues. To remember the Gaw Kadal killings of 1990, Geelani exclusively asked the Gaw Kadal locality here to observe strike, whereas against the recent civilian killing in Pulwama on January 20, Geelani asked the south Kashmir to observe shutdown. But the results on the fateful day remained exactly the opposite. Barring Pulwama town where the killi...
