Kathua, Nov 11: St. Xavier's Convent School Kathua, today, held its Annual Sports Day in its prestigious premises. The chief guest of the event, Hugh Lynch Gardener (Grandmaster of Budo Ryu Kempo, Martial Arts) has come all the way from Australia while Shihaan Cherly Lynch Gardner, the Chief Instructor of Budo Ryu Kempo, Martial Arts, Australia was the Guest of Honour. The event began with unfurling of the school flag followed by lighting the torch ceremony. Principal of the school, Rev. Fr. Dr. Johnson Thomas promised to continue his efforts in the best interest of the education for the people of Kathua. There were many cultural items which bound the spectators throughout the program. The foreign guests were also amazed to witness the talent of Kathuates and reflected their happiness in their speech. The program concluded at around 3 in the evening with smiling faces and proud hearts. |
