"To facilitate influential businessmen, who have their business establishment on both side of the road, design and alignment of road were compromised by PWD", he alleged. The former PWD Engineer further alleged, "The contractor was reportedly a partner of a senior Cabinet Minister so he worked at his convenience and even compromised on the project plan at certain places to maintain a comfortable level for the showrooms and malls located in the area from the road." However, shielding delay in execution work on subways, the Executive Engineer of Division Gandhi Nagar, Mohammed Abdullah said that the work was being delayed of shortage of funds. He said that the subways at Diagna Ashram could be completed in March 2015. "Constructions of pending subway will start as soon as possible", he added. |
