Second cease-fire violation in 3 days

BARAMULLA, Nov 11: Pakistan troops exchanged heavy fire on LOC in Uri sector of Baramulla district in North Kashmir on Tuesday Morning.
According to senior official of BSF, Pakistan soldiers resorted to mortar shelling and fired through automatic weapons at the forward Indian posts in the afternoon of Tuesday.
Official told Early Times that in a fresh ceasefire violation, Pakistan troops fired at forward Indian posts along Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of district Baramulla in north Kashmir, drawing retaliation from Indian soldiers on Tuesday morning.
He added that there was an unprovoked ceasefire violation in Uri sector from across the Line of Control (LoC) at 8.00 AM.
"Pakistan troops started unprovoked firing from small arms and automatic weapons and lobbed mortar shells on forward posts along LoC in Uri today," official said.
He said that Pakistan Rangers had also opened fire on border outposts in Jammu last night but the Indian forces showed restraint and did not retaliate.
Within less than three days Pakistan Rangers violated ceasefire two times and resorted to firing on border outposts (BoPs) in Uri sector of Baramulla district, official added, it is the second cross firing incident in last three days.
However sources said that Pakistan today violated the ceasefire, in Uri Sector which was responded "appropriately" by India.
It is pertinent to mention here that, on Nov 8, Pakistani troops has done unprovoked firing on this side of Line of Control (LOC) in which one army man and a civilian were killed.
However the firing was started by Pakistani Rangers on the LOC in Kamalkote village of Uri town in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
"Pakistani troops fired heavy motor shelling and Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG) which hit the civilian population,The firing was continued for almost two hours in which a lady Gulshan Bano and a BSF solider Hawaldar Mallapa were killed. Meanwhile according to sources the Indian troops effectively and appropriately responded to Pakistan firing and shelling, there was no casualty reported till last report came in.
Indian troops exchanged heavy fire in Uri sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla district of North Kashmir; sources believe that the incident was of localized nature, sources added.
