Jammu, Nov 11: Government College for Women, Parade (GCW) today held a meeting of the Star College External Advisory Committee here at college premises. According to press release, during the meeting committee took a round of all the Science department falling under the Star College Scheme and inspected the newly purchased equipment. They also enquired the students and faculty about the usage of the different equipment, apparatus and consumable items. In presence of the External Experts, Advisory committee, Chairperson, Dr. HemlaAggarwal, Principal of the college, Dr. PragyaKhanna, Coordinator and Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Finance officer. Head of Department of Science made presentations about the respective profiles of their department and different activities undertaken by them since the inception of the scheme like various events organized, new practical introduced apart from the usual prescribed syllabi practical, projects executed by the students, lectures delivered by the experts/resource persons in the relevant subjects, field visits undertaken. More than 100 science models workable and non-workable were exhibited on the occasion by the students to show their output to the team members and the other students of the college in order to inculcate the scientific temperament amongst the students. Dr. Sandhya R. Shenoy, Scientist 'D', D.B.T, Govt. of India, New Delhi was the representative of the funding agency. Prof. A.J.S Bhanwer, Dean, Life Science, GNDU,Amritsar and Prof. J.P. Yadav, Dept. of Genetics,M.D University, Rohtak, Haryana expert advisors were also present on the occasion. |
