Jammu, Nov 11: PEACE (Volunteer Organization) today, organized a seminar on topic "Women Empowerment and Education to Girl Child" in Govt. Higher Secondary School, Krimchi. President, PEACE, Narinder Sharma was Chief Guest oh this occasion where as Bansi Lai, Principal of the School presided over the function. 25 girl students from various Govt. Schools of Tehsil Panchari were felicitated by PEACE and stationary items were also distributed among the students on this occasion. Riya Patyal of class 10th and Sonali of class 11th were adjudged as Best Speakers. While speaking, Narinder Sharma emphasized the need of education to girl child for Women Empowerment. He said that various schemes were launched by the State as well as Central Govt, to educate the girl child at Elementary Level. Explaining the National programme for Girl Child at Elementary Level (NPGEL) ,Sharma urged upon the gathering to bring the dropout students in schools as there is provision for free Education and Meal for these students. Sharma also stressed upon the teacher community to come forward for this noble cause and to eradicate illiteracy from remote and far flung areas. He said that teachers are real Ambassador in hilly and remote areas. He also urged the Govt, to depute well qualified and trained staff to far-flung areas of Panchari and Mongri Tehsils as there is acute shortage of trained faculty in these schools. He said that various Govt. Schools are running by either simple teachers or ReTs. While culminating, Principal of the school appreciated by efforts of PEACE for organizing the seminar and also hoped that such type of programs should also be held in near future.
