BJP intends to form Govt on its own | Non-committal on pre-poll alliance | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 11: BJP's aims at forming the government without taking support or forming an alliance with either PDP or NC. The party strategy is to rope in small parties and few independents than carry the baggage of the big party. Sources said it is because of this strategy that the party has not given any assurance of any kind to either PDP or NC. Sources said party has decided to keep equidistance from both the Kashmir based parties. "There is not much difference between the NC and PDP per se. They have their own agendas and ideologies which probably doesn't suit the nationalist agenda of the party. These parties will not shed them even if they align with us so we are keeping our cards open to other parties," said a senior BJP leader. It's in part with this strategy that party is trying to bring in its fold people like Sajjad Lone, GH Mir and Hakim Yaseen. "Hassan Mir has been praised by the Indian Army too, Hakim Yaseen doesn't have much of the anti-India stated position. Lone, we are testing, but given the credentials of his father, we can mend him to our own way," said the leader. While NC has been trying hard to get the support of the BJP as it fear total decimation after the poll result, PDP has also opened back-channel talks with the BJP .It is trying to evoke the special relationship it had with the Vajpayeee to forge a possible alliance. The BJP's larger game plan is to completely change the political discourse of the state especially in the valley. The party believes it can't achieve its objective if PDP and NC continue to diktat terms . "The party wants to end dominations of the regional parties of the Kashmir and bring about change in the political discourse. By gaining power and pushing in small players the larger objective can be achieved," said the leader. |
