BJP cannot exist in Rajouri, Poonch for 100 yrs: Mir | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Nov 11 : Lambasting the BJP for its claim to win three seats from Rajouri district, Shakeel Mir PCC general secretary said that it (BJP) has no existence in Rajouri-Poonch districts since independence and can't have for another 100 years. Reacting to the yesterday's statement of Vivod Gupta, BJP state vice president against Ghulam Nabi Azad (for not contesting Assembly election fearing defeat) , Mir said that Azad is a leader of international repute and can contest election from any part of state as well as from the whole country. "BJP can't win even a single seat form Pir-Panjal region just because of its nefarious designs and divisive politics. Vivodh Gupta, who even can't win a sarpanch election, challenging Ghual Nabi Azad who has a capacity to contest against a person who could be the possible candidate for Prime Ministerial post."said Sain Rashid, district Congress president. Sain Rashid claimed that Congress is set to win maximum Assembly seats from Pir -panjal region and will not allow parties like BJP to rule the people. Mohd Shafi Dar, PCC general secretary said that sitting MLA is poised to win the election again and his popularity has disconcert BJP and PDP leaders who are having one point agenda to grab power irrespective of their capability. "Congress always wants to change destiny of the people of J&K and to set up a pro-people corruption free transparent and accountable system" said Dar and added that era of Azad was a golden era of the State. Iqbal Shawl said the historic decisions for the amendment to strengthen PRIs, development of tourist places along with road connectivity, MGNREGA, food security bill, Lokpal bill, NRHM, vendors protection bill, RGAY, RTI and many others, were taken by the Congress and no other party can dare to such decisions. All the party workers and youth of the area showed great resentment and claimed that results shall speak its own. Others who spoke on the occasion were Zaheer Abbas, district youth president, Iqbal Shawl , Iftiqar Dar, Subhash Sharma, Lalit Mahajan, Haji Farooq, Susheel Sharma, Pushpinder Gupta and many others. |
