Early Times Report

jammu, Nov 11 : Rejecting the idea of Hindu Chief Minister for Jammu and Kashmir, BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav today said that his party would field candidates on 60 seats in Jammu and Kashmir and end family rule in the state.
Madhav, who is on a two-day visit to the state, today reached Kashmir. Talking to media persons at BJP headquarter here today, he said that having Hindu Chief Minister for Jammu and Kashmir is not a priority of BJP leadership and added that anybody of any religion can be the next chief Minister of the state.
He said BJP is considering only worthy candidates to fulfill its Mission 44+ and added that BJP is meeting likeminded people like Sajjad Gani Lone in its attempt to convince them. However, there will be no pre-poll alliance with any political party of the state, he said.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keen about Kashmir. We are meeting people and want to develop tourism and industrial sector in Srinagar. We are focusing to secure a good number of seats in J&K and for that purpose, we require good people from Kashmir," Madhav said. When asked whether BJP will touch issue of abrogation of Article 370 again, he said that BJP state unit will come out with a manifesto very soon in which all such issues have been discussed in detail and you will come to know whether article 370 will be abrogated or not.' He said that BJP is working on Mission 44+ and for that purpose he and other members of BJP have many a times visited Jammu and Kashmir. He would also meet Sajjad Gani Lone and other likeminded people during his fresh two-day visit to Kashmir, he added. Madhav said that BJP was committed to end family rule of National conference (NC) and people's Democratic party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir and added that doors of BJP are open for separatists as well. Separatists should stop knocking the doors of Pakistan and instead meet Prime Minister like they had met Pakistan High commissioner and other people, he added. On his visit to Kashmir, many office bearers of state Congress and NC had switched over to BJP who were welcomed in the party by Madhav and other state level office bearers of BJP at the party's Srinagar office.
