| HODs show thumb to Medical Education Minister's decree | | Govt order is not word of God' | | | Early Times Report
srinagar, Jan 19: Despite banning of private practice for all Heads of Departments (HoDs) of the Medical and Dental Colleges of the State and their associated hospitals by the Government, various HoDs continued with private practice in clear defiance of orders of Medical Education Department.
Private clinics of HODs situated at Hyderpora, Batamaloo, Sanat Nagar, Karan Nagar and various other places continue to operate in clear defiance of Government orders. Some of the doctors are defiant and refuse to abide by Government orders. "That order is an order not the word of God which should be followed strictly", said one of the HoDs, adding, "We have seen such orders in past but no one could stop us. Let them (Ministers) do their paper work to please their voters," she added.
Some HoD's have even engaged their sub ordinate doctors at their private clinics by allowing them to remain absent from hospitals. | ‘Ineligible’ candidate promoted as Dy Registrar in KU | | | | Majid Ahmad
srinagar, Jan 19: In brazen violation of norms, Kashmir University authorities have promoted an "ineligible" candidate to the post of Deputy Registrar recently.
According to the University order No F10 (Apptt-Gen)/RC/KU/12, Asmat Kawoos, Assistant Registrar (AR) was promoted as Deputy Registrar on January 11. Sources told Early Times that Asmat wasn't eligible for the post as she neither had the required experience nor the prescribed qualification for the post.
"Asmat has only six plus years of experience as AR while the required experience is eight years. She was taken on the plea that she has masters' degree and needed only five years experience as AR," they said.

Jammu, Jan 19: Those who have not been inducted in Council of Ministers in the recent Cabinet reshuffle by Omar Abdullah, are using their supporters and followers to pressurize the Chief Minister and Congress party to reverse the decision.
This all started when Ghulam Mohammad Saroori's supporters and sarpanches of Inderwal constituency resigned from Congress party to protest against the non inclusion of their MLA into the Council of Ministers. They even asked Saroori to resign from Congress party but he refused and termed it a part and parcel of life.

Sunday, which is being treated as holiday in all the public and private sectors and everyone is habitual of being relaxed on Sunday, but the fact is that the Government of India has issued no order till now which officially declares Sunday as holiday.
