SRINAGAR, Oct 2: CPI (M) State Secretary, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, has failed to motivate the principal opposition party, PDP, to resume its participation in proceedings of the current session of Legislative Assembly.
On day one of the autumn session on September 30th, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti had delivered a political speech during obituary references and announced her party’s decision of staying away from rest of the proceedings in absence of punishment to “killers of 109 Kashmiri martyrs”---civilians killed in Police and CRPF action in the last four months of turbulence in Kashmir valley.

CPI (M) leader and MLA from Kulgam, Tarigami was selected as an interlocutor.

Perhaps that was the strategy high command had in its mind and was apparently conveyed to leg... | |
