Syed Junaid Hashmi JAMMU, Mar 12: Congress is in for a major embracement as the press conferences addressed by Revenue Minister Aijaz Ahmed Khan over Roshni scam is being scrutinized for violation of model code of conduct (MCC) which came into force on March 5. Electoral prospects of Sonia Congress
Jammu's Political Scene
3/12/2014 11:06:47 PM
Rustam JAMMU, Mar 12: The Congress performed exceptionally well in the 2004 and 2009 general elections in Jammu province and won both the Lok Sabha seats. Madan Lal Sharma won consecutively from the Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary Constituency and Lal Singh from Udhampur-Doda constituency. The BJP was the runners up in both the elections. Can the Congress replicated 2004 and 2009 in 2014 winning both the seats? The political situation as it prevails today in this province suggests that the task of the Congress this time would be quite difficult. Several factors are working against the Congress party. Apart from the performance of the sitting MPs, which has not inspired many in province for obvi...
