Rapid Action Force had to be deployed in some sensitive areas of the western parts of city where more than a 1000 strong mob outnumbered the cops. More than 100 people have been reported injured, with six of them critically, and around six dozen protesters and their leaders have been taken into custody for inciting communal passions. Reports of communal attacks too have been received from areas like Kathua, Bari Brahmna, Samba, Akhnoor and Rajouri. Early Times Reporter Jammu | July 3 Elderly Kashmiri Pandit women today became target of cops chasing the mob fury as tear gas shells were thrown into the residential houses in Durga Nagar area of Talab Tillo. Eye witnesses said that a heavy contingent of Police while chasing the mobsters barged into a locality in Durga Nagar mostly housing the Kashmir Pandit families and threw teargas shells. Though the residential houses were not the actual target of the Police but the unintended shells caused injuries to the inmates. And the bad news is that crisis in the transmission system is too deep which has forces the Power Development Department to resort to power cuts ranging from 10 hours to 12 hours in different localities on rotational basis.
