2 killed, 26 injured in Mehrauli blast

AGENCY NEW DELHI, Sept 27: Two persons were killed and 26 others injured when a low intensity bomb blast rocked a flower market in South Delhi’s Mehrauli area on Saturday afternoon. Confirming death of a child, police said that the explosion took place outside an electronics shop, near Andheriya More. According to eyewitnesses, two men on a motorcycle had dropped a tiffin box at the market, known as Phoolwalon ki Sairwala Market, near Aulia Masjid. When the boy picked up the tiffin box, a loud explosion took place, killing him and injuring many people. The explosion shattered the window panes of several adjacent shops in the market located close to the historic Qutab Minar, which was bustling with shoppers. The market has since been evacuated. The blast, which caused a crater, left a gory scene where blood was splattered on the road along with broken glass panes and furniture. The market was closed and the blast site cordoned off soon after the blast. Police said that the blast occurred at around 2:15 pm. AGENCY NEW DELHI, Sept 27: Four persons were arrested by the police from Indira Gandhi International Airport and Faridabad in connection with the Mehrauli blast. A bike(HR26A5827) that was found abandoned at Palam Vihar has been brought to Mehrauli police station for investigation. Two men, believed to be aged around 30-32 years, riding a black motorcycle with Delhi registration number are being held responsible for the explosion at Mehrauli. "We have sounded an alert for them. Extensive checking is being undertaken to nab them," Joint Commissioner of Police (Southern Range) Ajay Kashyap said. Court refuses to interfere in transfers

EARLY TIMES REORT JAMMU, Sept 27: In a significant observation, also a reiteration of various judgments of the Supreme Court, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court today said that the transfers and postings of employees is a prerogative of the employer (government in this case) and the Courts should not interfere in such matters.
