| Court grants bail to Doctors in Rotary Inner Wheel case | | | Et Report
Jammu, Oct 3 : The Third Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Sanjeev Gupta today granted bail to Dr. Raj Sharma and Dr. Raman Sharma who were arrested by the police in much publicized Inner Rotary Wheel Home case.
While granting bail to doctors, Court observed that the counsel for the applicant has submitted that the petitioners were not owners of the Nurisng Home in the 1997.
Court further observed that it is admittedly in this case some persons from the management of Home Channi Rama besides mother of the victim girl were present in the Nursing Home when her pregnancy was terminated. The identification parade to establish that the petitioners were infact responsible for termination of the pregnancy of the victim girl us yet to be got conducted.
Court further observed that the parameters laid down by the Apex Court for considering the grant of bail to an accused include the likelihood of his absconsion and tempering with the evidence or the witness or the even the investigation. Both the petitioners are doctors, tampering with evidence relating to an allegation against the pertaining to year 1997 is no longer relevant. With these observations court granted bail to both the doctors with the conditions that they shall cooperate with the investigation and shall appear before the IO and as and when required. (JNF) |
