JAMMU, Oct 3: State unit of Congress, it appears loves to be on see-saw mode in terms of the momentum of its activities once reaching crescendo, falls back to level from where it started. While the State unit organized a couple of conventions in recent past with great enthusiasm , has again convoluted itself in a shell with no activity happening either at the PCC level or at the level of districts and blocks. The report on reorganization of district and block committees which was sought to be prepared by the Vice Presidents of PCC few months is still awaited. The main body of PCC is also in a State limbo as the much awaited body with new team of office bearers is yet to be announced . Delay on both fronts is impacting the activities of the party at the ground level, a reality about which the leadership is not oblivious .
Sources said the PCC president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz sometime back had named a team of senior leaders, all of them vice presidents of the State body and assigned a specific task of looking into working and present status of all district ad block level committees of Congress. This was done with the concept of reorganization of these bodies on mind, something which was desired the grease the activities to gear them into fast and active mode before the Assembly elections. However, over three months, the status of this team is not known as to whether it commenced the task or whether it has got any data with respect to functioning of the district bodies. They were made incharge of different districts to see and assess the working of the district level bodies, sources said adding that on the basis of this report the PCC leadership intends to make changes or reorganize the bodies with new office bearers , wherever needed.
Sources, however, said the report has not been submitted to the PCC leadership. Nor is there any indication as to when the PCC leadership would nominate new in charges for the districts across the State, appending task which is affecting the activities on the ground level, sources informed. This is taking more toll with things and activities almost stagnant in Kashmir division where lack of in charge or the person who could monitor the works and functioning , there is no mobilization of the cadres. The things are in limbo mainly because the reshuffle at the top level in PCC is yet to be made formally, though decisions have been taken since . There are still some differences and disagreement between the stalwarts who matter in having key persons on board as PCC functionaries, which is why this delay in announcement. |
