| BJP calls for Kishtwar band over torture of juvenile by SIT | | | Asif Iqbal Naik KISHTWAR, Oct 3: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and Sanatan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar today called for complete shut down on Friday over the alleged torture of 17 year old Ajay Kumar son of Sewa Ram resident of Begana Kishtwar by SIT probing August 9 Kishtwar violence. While confirming the shutdown call given jointly by BJP and Sanatan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar, BJP district President Kishtwar Rajinder Singh said that there is great resentment among the members of minority community over alleged torture of minor youth by SIT and Kishtwar police. He said that BJP did not want to interfere into the ongoing investigation and added that unnecessary harassment of the youths from minority community will not be tolerated at any cost. He said that SIT and Kishtwar police detained Ajay Kumar illegally and committed atrocities on him during custody. He said that police is trying to pressurize the youth to depose against innocent people of minority community. "Investigating agencies are trying to implicate minority community youths falsely. BJP condemns the approach of harassment and torture of minority community youths. The police officer who played suspicious role in August 9 violence at Kishtwar is committing atrocities on youths. He warns the police and administration over harassing and torture of minority community youths. The police are trying to put pressure on the parents of the youth to change their statement and added that tomorrow bandh will be a peaceful one, "he said. |
