JAMMU, Oct 3: The "North Zone Inter State Badminton Championships 2013", hosted by J&K Badminton Association at Jammu, from 1st to 3rd Oct. 2013, concluded here at Indoor Sports Complex, M.A. Stadium, Jammu, on 3rd Oct. evening. Madan Lal Sharma, Hon'ble Member Parliament., was the Chief Guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and Runners. Speaking on the occasion, The Hon'ble Minister underlined the need of Sports to inculcate discipline, Team spirit and competition spirit among the youth. He assured the players and the distinguished guests present in the Badminton Hall that the Govt, will no stone unturned to encourage the sports and improve its standard in the state. Earlier, Sudarshan Singh Wazir, President, J&K Badminton association, welcomed the Chief Guest for having spared his valuable time from his busy schedule to grace the occasion.
Dr. O.D. Sharma, General Secretary, J&K Badminton Association thanked the players, officials, guests for making the tournament a grand success. He thanked the J&K Sports Council for providing the necessary facilities and the financial help. He further thanked the J&K Bank Ltd. for helping & patronizing the tournament as major sponsor. He also thanked the All India Radio, Doordarshan, T.V. Channels and the print Media, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Police department and power Department for their nice co-operation.
