Sports Reporter SRINAGAR, Oct 3: Quarterfinals line-up has drawn with eight teams making it to the knock-out stages of the ongoing National School Games under-14 boys' cricket, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at different venues, here today. Teams qualifying for the next round of quarterfinals included hosts J&K, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Navodhya Vidyalaya Sangathan (NVS), Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Earlier, in the last round of league matches, J&K defeated Chattisgarh by a big margin of 52 runs. Batting first, J&K set a target of 170 runs in given 20 overs which, in reply, Chattisgarh could not chase and bowled out for 117 runs. In another match, NVS defeated Karnataka by 61 runs. The NVS, batting first made 180 for six. In reply, Karnataka could make 101 runs for three wickets. Haryana also won their match against Chandigarh by nine wickets. Madhya Pradesh defeated Daman Dew by 43 runs while IPSC defeated Chattisgarh by nine wickets. Jharkhand registered an eight runs win against West Bangal. ------------------------ Judo trials on Oct 7 Sports Reporter JAMMU, Oct 3: To select the state team for National Youth and Junior National Championship, the Jammu and Kashmir Judo Association has decided to hold trials at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here on October 7 at 3.30 pm. The selected probable shall undergo coaching camp before their departure for the venue of the meet at Ranchi in Jharkhand. The competition is scheduled to be held from November 10 to November 14, informed general secretary of the Association, Vikas Gupta. |
