Rajouri, Oct 3: Members of Social Justice, a NGO, have raised voice in multi crore embezzlements in CAPD, Social Welfare, PWD, Rural Development departments and in Pahari Hostel in Rajouri district. They have alleged that despite several RTI applications and complaints forwarded to Chief Minister Grievance Cell during last few years nothing has been done due to nexus between corrupt officials and politicians.
A RTI activist Shanawaz said that two enquiries had been ordered by the CM Grievance Cell vide Nos 360398 and 43339 after their complaints about large scale misuse of government funds in Pahari Hostel.
In preliminary report of one of the enquiry which was initiated by AC Defence , Rajouri, it was established that the present warden is involved in misuse of funds.
But due to political interference further action was not taken and the department despite several RTI applications is not providing the inquiry report. RTI activist Shahnawaz said that the inquiry was completed in 2012 and since then warden has not been providing the copy of the final report despite the fact that first appellant authority DDC, has issued notices to him several times. Javaid Mugal president Pahari Action Committee (PAC) has said that there is a multi crore scam in Pahari hostel and for the last about 4 years hostel inmates have been protesting against the high handedness of the officers concerned (warden) and the huge embezzlement of funds meant for uniforms, clothing, bedding, books, stationary and mess have occurred and the funds fraudulently withdrawn and embezzled. Mobin Ahmed and Jawaid Ahmed, both RTI activists said that they have applied for an information from Assistant Commissioner Development (Rural) about fraudulent allotments development works involving crores of rupees. "When the information was refused by the ACD, we approached the director Rural Development who also refused to provide the information" said Mobin.
"For the last 3 years no RTI case has been settled in district Rajouri which is a gross violation of RTI act in district Rajouri " said Shahnaz Mughal. Advocate Rajinder Mehta and Amir Mir, spokesman and secretary, Social Justice NGO said that Chief Minister's hollow slogan of corruption free administration has been exposed in Rajouri district as CM grievance cell and RTI office is under the control of corrupt politicians/officials. |
