BGSBU team leaves for NZ Football C’ship

Rajouri, Oct 8: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University has sent his 16 members Football team to participate in Indian North Zone Football Championship being initiated on October 10.
The team was flagged off by Vice Chancellor Prof. Irshad Ahmed Hamal in presence of Dean of Students Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary, Dean Academic Affairs Prof AK Koul, Deputy Registrar Suneet Gupta, Deputy Director Physical Education & Sports Mohammad Din, University Engineer B R Chadgal and Security Officer Mir Hussain.
The team comprising of 16 members is led by Tafasal Irshad and it was shown flag by Vice Chancellor from the University's Vice Chancellor's lawn. The team is escorted by RC Bhatt, Coach and manager of the team.
Indian North Zone Football Championship is very important tournament being organized by Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak in which teams from all University's of Northern India are participating.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof IA Hamal expressed pleasure over the selection of team for participating in the Indian North Zone Football Championship at Rohtak. He hoped that the team will perform well in the tournament as sufficient training and practice has been given to them in the University. He also appreciated Physical Education & Sports for intensifying sports activities and said that such activities are very important for overall development of a student. He wished best of luck to all the team members and instructed the officers to provide the team every facility.
On the occasion, Dean of Students Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary appraised Vice Chancellor about various game activities being held in the University. He said that University teams are getting exposure by visiting outside the state and participating in National level contest. He said that such activities will be continued in future also.
All the team members thanked authorities for arrangements being made for them for the trip.
