| 66 KPS officers drawing salary for doing nothing 93 promoted as SPs awaiting adjustment | | J&K's Man (mis) management! | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 8: Administrative failure and disaster in man management of the state government can be gauged from the fact that at least 66 KPS officers are drawing salaries from government exchequer even as they have been given no assignments for six months now. Highly placed sources told that 33 KPS officers from Kashmir and the same number of officers from Jammu Division have not been posted anywhere and yet since April 2013 they are drawing handsome salaries from the government exchequer. Reports said that during the year 2010-11, sixty-six officers were selected for Kashmir Police Service. They were given proper training in different departments like Vigilance Organization, Criminal Investigation Department, Fire and Emergency and Forensic Science Laboratory. Sources in police department told that from past 7 months these officers are waiting for their appointment orders, however, the government is paying them as it pays to a regular KPS officer. One of the KPS officers told that Department of Home is showing no interest in getting these officers appointed. Meanwhile, 93 Dy Sp's who were promoted as Superintendent of Police 4 months ago are still waiting for their adjustments. One of the promoted officers told that despite being promoted as SP's, they are still working as Dy SP's. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who is holding the Home Department, could not be contacted, however, his political advisor told CNS that he would confirm it from Home Department and according the matter would be taken up with the officials of the Home Department. |
