Srinagar, Oct 8: While condemning the action taken by government over the illegal appointments and undue promotion scam in Deputy Commissioner's office of district Shopian, Bhartaiya Janata Party (BJP) raised the issue in Assembly today with much emphasis.
The state president of BJP, Jugal Kishore while surprising the concerned NC and PDP candidates of Shopian in assembly today raised the scam of illegal appointments and undue promotions exposed by early times last year and demanded stern action against the people involved in the scam.
He informed the house that a scam of illegal appointments and undue promotions in office of the deputy commissioner Shopian has not been heeded by the authorities despite its expose by Early Times last year.
The details about the said scam were later handed over to the concerned Minister and BJP members were assured that a thorough inquiry will be conducted in the scam and everything related to the scam will be exposed.
Talking to Early Times, Jugal Kishore later said that it does not matter for BJP whether any issue which is worthy to seek the attention of house is from any area of Jammu, Kashmir or Ladakh but as a public representative it is his responsibility to raise the issues of people in general in ongoing assembly session.
Early Times had exposed the scam of illegal appointments and undue promotions in D.C office Shopian last year and had brought the issue in the notice of then divisional commissioner of Kashmir Asgar Samoon and deputy commissioner of Shopian Muhammad Javaid Kahan who assured ET that an inquiry is going on in the issue and anybody found involved in the scam will be strictly handled as per the law of the land.
However until now no action was taken against anybody involved in the scam.
In response to a RTI application filed by one RTI activist of Jammu and Kashmir RTI movement, Junaid Andrabi he was given misleading and incomplete information in all respects and the process of replying was also delayed.
