Jammu, Oct 8: In complete defiance of School Education Minister Tara Chand's order transferring a lecturer of Chemistry from DIET Jammu, the recently appointed Director School Education (DSE) Jammu today retained the blue eyed lecturer at previous place of posting. Sources at Directorate School Education, Jammu informed Early Times that Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, who is also School Education Minister, had received complaints of alleged misappropriation in funds of Rashtriya Madyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan (RAMSA) funds, by Principal DIET and Lecturer Bhagwan Dass Sharma (BD Sharma). "Taking strict action against the involved officials, Deputy Chief Minister Tara had ordered transfer of Bhagwan Dass Sharma from DIET to Government Higher Secondary School Jindrah, but using his political clout, Bhagwan Dass on October 7 managed his posting once again at DIET", sources said. On the very next day of his transfer, Bhagwan Dass, sources said, after the intervention of Principal DIET Jammu, Arif Iqbal who is also very close to him, compelled the Director School Education to issue retaining orders. "The Lecturer had been serving at DIET Jammu as Chemistry Lecturer for last four years, and was also indulged in alleged misappropriation of funds under RAMSA", sources said, adding that a section of people had met Deputy CM and narrated involvement of said lecturer in misuse of funds. "As a sequel, the Deputy CM had ordered transfer, which was also justified as per transfer rules, as the lecturer has completed four years of his service at same place", the sources said. It remains to be seen whether any action is taken against the Director or not for breach of orders from none other than the minister concerned. It is worthwhile to mention here that the change of the guard in the Directorate of School Education Jammu , as many as six times in the last 9 months, has no bearing on the new incumbent as he too has ignored the directions from the minister concerned. |
