| 71605 selections for just 10065 posts | | Coalition's fast track funda | | Bashir Assad
Srinagar, Oct 8: Out of 71605 posts of different categories lying vacant in various departments and Public sector Undertakings in the state, the government has so for referred only 30562 vacancies to recruiting agencies while as selection has been made just for 10065 posts. In written reply to a question tabled by CPI(M) legislator in the assembly, the government said that 71605 posts were lying vacant in departments and PSUs in the state of which 9318 posts are Gazetted, 43415 are non-Gazetted and 18872 are Class-IV. The government said in the reply that 30562 posts have been referred to the recruiting agencies during last two years. It said out of the total 30562 posts 3737 posts have been referred to Public service Commission (PSC), 18110 to Sub-ordinate Services recruitment Board (SSRB) and 8715 to District recruitment Boards (DRB). The reply said that out of total 3737 posts referred to PSC selection has been made against 663 posts only so for. Similarly out of total 18110 posts referred to SSRB, selection has been made against 7998 posts only and out of 8715 posts referred to DRB, 1404 sections have been made so for. Interestingly, the government instead of admitting the slow process of recruitment by its recruiting agencies has said in the reply that the process of filling up of over 70,000 posts has been set in motion on fast track basis and the recruitment process in under way for selection of the vacancies in various cadres, viz Gazetted, Non-Gazetted and Class-IV. About the reasons for delay in filling up of 43,000 identified vacancies of Casual Laboures, the government said in reply that it has approved the engagement of 43,000 casual/seasonal laboures in seven departments vide Government Order No. 105-PD of 2010 dated 25-10-2010. However, it said, no engagements in this regard have been made so far as the required operational modalities for these engagements are yet to be finalized by the concerned departments. |
