Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 8: A seminar on "Career Opportunities in Journalism and Mass Communication" was organized by B B Institute of Journalism and Mass Communication (BBIJMC) at Government College for Women (GCW), Parade, here today. In the seminar, students were briefed about various career options in the field of Print and Electronic Media besides, Advertising and Public Relations sector. Resource person Romi Gupta told them that owing to rapid digitalization and advancement in the technology, there was an immense rise in opportunities not only in big cities but in small cities like Jammu as well. She explained, "Number of newspapers, magazines and news websites has registered an exponential growth in past decade led to shortage of skilled manpower to cater the needs of media sector." But due to lack of awareness youth of Jammu is not been able to catch up with this ever growing sector, she added. Principal Dr. Hemla Aggarwal appreciated BBIJMC for making endeavor to aware the students about the job potential in the field of media. The programme was coordinated by Tahir Mushtaq and Yash Pal Khajuria. Large number of students attended the seminar and settled their queries vis-à-vis media sector. |
