| KHC expresses concern over change in socio religious culture of J&K | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 26: Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) today expressed concern over slow and steady change in socio religious culture of Jammu and Kashmir especially in valley. According to press release, KHC held a meeting under the chairmanship of ML Thusoo. He said that the recent statement of chairperson Jammu and Kashmir Bank Mushtaq Ahmad is a step forward in this behalf. He said that the chairman of J&K Bank Mushtaq Ahmed said that there was ample scope and provision for Islamic Banking in J&K Bank. The statement was not tune with the secular fabric of state. "J&K is part and parcel of Indian union and as such banking of any particular faith is against the basics and fundamentals of the constitution of the country" said Thusoo. He further said that the leaders in their speeches stressed that this is not the problem of masses that the chairman in question will prepare his views. The state is ruled by laws and not by arbitrary will of any individual. "'Justice is blind' it knows nobody and not any particular faith in a secular state. This was not any issue previously and should not be encouraged in future as well the leaders added there is no privileged position of anybody or any particular faith. This is calculated move to the idea and initiative of Islamization of the state" said Thusoo. The KHC leaders further stressed that for some time in the recent past a calculated move is going on to erode the secular traditions of state and substituted by Islamic and fundamental traditions which is very much discouraging on the party of those institutions which were to guard the same. PL Koul, KL Gangu, AK Koul, ML Koul, AK Koul, and GL Koul were present on the occasion. |
