SRINAGAR, Dec 27: Following defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, the Congress high command, according to sources has urged Ghulam Nabi azad and saif-ud-Din Soz to shun differences and unit for the sake of party.
The two leaders representing warring factions of Congress are expected to share dias at the Anantnag rally scheduled for tomorrow.
The leaders, sources said were urged by the high command to shun differences after workers informed them that the party could suffer defeat in Parliamentary as well as Assembly elections.
Sources also added that Ghulam Nabi Azad who during his political career has always liked enjoying rank and maintaining statues was actually aware about the future of Congress in the country, thereby sidelined himself from entering in the fray of Parliamentary elections which according to the sources means remaining away from public gatherings and not having access to active portfolios is now sneaking steadily back in state politics with an intention to become Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir again after 2014 Assembly elections in whatsoever coalition.
One senior most member of State Congress who is in Jammu these days said that pressure has mounted on Azad and Soz as according to him beyond any doubt BJP is gaining in Jammu division and thereby directly shrinking space of State Congress more than any other political party.
The Congress which after recently conducting some public rallies in Doda-Kishtwar valley and Rajouri areas is also hope full that its candidates from south Kashmir in particular in Kashmir division will also retain their constituencies in forthcoming Assembly elections, besides the office bearers of State Congress are likely to introduce some new faces from Srinagar and North Kashmir during 2014 Assembly elections.
