An estimated Rs 4.3 lakh were looted from the ATM machine, official sources said.
The incident, which according to eyewitnesses, took place at around 2.00 a.m in Sector 7 came to light at around 5:30 am on Friday when locals of the area alerted the police.
The room where ATM machine was fitted was without any security guard and flouted basic security norms as well. The unit was powerless and without surveillance camera at the time of the robbery.
Hours after the shocking incident the ATM machines of various other banks were without security guard.
As police launched the manhunt to nab the robbers the senior police officers took review of the security at the ATM centres.

The police officer said the concerned bank and all others would be issued strict guidelines to ensure security of the ATM machines and customers. According to official sources the ATM machine was later tracked down near Sarore in Bishnah but the cash box was missing in it.
SSP Jammu Atul Goel said that the police have identified the gang and hopefully we will arrest them within days.
