Jammu, Dec27: The Anti-sabotage team has taken over the M A Stadium in Jammu and entry for the common men including sportsperson has been barred till January 29 from today. The stadium has been closed for security ahead of Republic day celebrations of January 26, 2014. The Anti-sabotage team has started their job in the stadium and all the sportspersons have been instructed, not to enter the stadium till January 29. "The stadium is for sports or for cultural and political activities, firstly Rahul Gandhi, then Modi and now Republic day, when will we practice in the stadium," said Saurabh Gupta, a player. "Our government can't even make a separate stadium of these kinds of activities, at least, the sportsperson's should not be disturbed with this kind of activities," he added. Police and Anti-sabotage team has cordon the entire stadium and checking and frisking has been started at the main gate of the stadium, however the indoor stadium is open for players, but no one is allowed to enter the main ground of the stadium. "The stadium has been closed from today as per the orders from the S P security, no sports related activities will be held in the stadium ground till Republic Day," Rajan Sharma, Sports Officer Jammu. The Anti- sabotage team has started checking the ground with their bomb and metal detector machines and started doing security arrangements for the peaceful celebration of the Republic Day in the winter capital of the state. "We have taken over the stadium from today, it will be closed for sports activities till January 29," Ramesh Angral, SP, Security, Jammu. "The Indoor stadium is open, only the main ground has been closed due to security related activities, the Anti-sabotage team has started their activities," he added. |
