Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 27: Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Chairman and MLA Ramnagar Harsh Dev Singh today called upon the District Administration Udhampur and various executing agencies to accelerate the pace of developmental works initiated in Ramnagar constituency and to ensure their completion well before the close of the current financial year.
He was undertaking a tour of villages Battal, Baryalta, Kathil Dangu, Peoni, Chiani and Tajur to inspect the ongoing developmental works in his constituency. He was accompanied by officers of PWD, PMGSY, Rural Development, PHE, M&RE, Education, I&FC besides others.
At Baijalta and Kathil, Singh inaugurated Middle School Bajalta and Middle school Kathil Dangu buildings constructed at the cost of Rs. 7.45 lacs each.
At Peoni, he inaugurated a community Pond constructed out of CDF. At Chiani he inaugurated the Panchayat Ghar constructed by Rural Development Deptt. at a cost of Rs. 20 lacs.
Addressing gatherings at various places, Harsh Dev Singh urged upon the Revenue authorities to ensure immediate disbursement of relief and ex-gratia in favour of those whose houses and crops had been damaged due to incessant rains of August last. He regretted that despite the funds having been made available for the purpose, the disbursement had been inordinately delayed at District and Tehsil levels. Likewise, he further sought the early release of funds for restoration works damaged due to the said rains and floods.
Harsh Dev Singh came down heavily on the Power Dev. Deptt. for large scale unscheduled cuts being effected in Ramnagar, Majalta and Dudu Basantgarh blocks and called upon the concerned officers to stem the rot. He called for immediate replacement of all damaged transformers and to further ensure electrification of all un-covered and left out areas. He called for early replacement of wooden poles and their substitution by PCC poles.
