Jammu, Dec 27 : Prof Saifuddin Soz MP and President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee led a delegation of Jat Community from Jammu and called on Union Home Minister Susheel Kumar Shinde late last evening at North Block, New Delhi and sought inclusion of Jats of J&K state for provision of reservation within the OBC category as decided by the Union Cabinet recently. According a press statement issued from New Delhi, the delegation led by Prof Saifuddin Soz (MP) President JKPCC and comprising Sham Lal Sharma- Minister for PHE, Ch Manmohan Singh-Ex-Mayor and President J&K Jat Maha Sabha, Ch Baldev, Avtar Krishan, Ch Anil, Ch Prem Lal and Ch Davinder Singh discussed various issues pertaining to Jat Community in state. While appreciating the perception of Prof Saifuddin Soz and others on this issue, Home Minister assured the delegation that besides taking up this matter with the Prime Minister, statement said and added that Union Home minister would write to J&K government to provide the needed reservation to Jat community in the state, as early as possible, within the OBC category. |
