| Demanding CBI inquiry, CCL stages protest | | |

Jammu, Dec 27: Demanding CBI inquiry into the death of Akshay Verma, Council For Civil Liberties (CCL) today staged protest demonstration under the leadership of its chairman Inder Mohinder Tar Singh.
Addressing the gathering, Tar Singh said that it was shocked to notice that despite strongly taken the matter for CBI, enquiry into the death case, no FIR has been lodged by the Police so far.
Dejected protestors were carrying placards in their hands, reading "handover Akshay's case to CBI", "we want justice", Akshay ke katilon ko bandh karo,bandh karo" and so on. The dharna lasted for around three hours.
"We fail to understand that a clear cut murder case is being projected as a case of suicide. If Arya Jain S/o leading and influential Pankaj Jain alias Bawa and Palak Gandotra D/o Pradeep Gandotra are subjected to thorough investigation by a SIT formed by J&K police and not GRP we are sure that the truth and reality can be revealed and the case will take an interesting twist", he said.
Tar Singh further added that the report of Inquest proceedings submitted by the SIT formed by GRP clearly mentioned that altercation and heated arguments among the persons present took place on the fatal night of September 24,2012.
"And the same led to murder or suicide for that matter is a big question mark (?) and the case of abetment too is ruled out as per the report. Further, the report reveals something which was in deceased mind was revealed so positively that it amazes and is mind boggling. It is pertinent to mention that the Inquest Proceeding is started if dead body of the deceased is not found", he said.
"If we go by the aforesaid report and agree with the same even then this is a case of murder as abetment led to all what happened that is if we agree for a moment that the deceased committed suicide", he said.
He further said that they have already spoken to few experts from the different fields and they too have strong feeling that it was a clear cut case of murder because Akshay Verma was taken by Arya Jain from former's home and next day his dead body was found or thrown on the railway track near Railway Phatak Channi Himmat which revealed that whatever has happenedduring the September24,2012 night and September24,2012 morning and during that time the deceased was with Arya Jain and Palak Gandotra and may be few more.
"So finally abetment led to murder or suicide which too is considered murder for that matter", said Tar Singh and appealed Chief Minister and Director General Police to use their respective offices to intervene and hand over the case to CBI for fair and transparent trial.
Prominent among others who attended the protest are Satpal Saini (EPTWSR), Sukhvinder Singh (SAD), Hari Singh (Sarpanch) Ashok Vasudev, Amarjeet Singh, Balbinder Singh,Showket Bhatti, Shanker Singh Chib,Neelam Devi, Vanita Verma (all social activists) and others. |
