| IAF airlifts critical patient from Marwah | | | early times report Kishtwar, Dec 27: As a part of goodwill gesture, the Indian Air force Chopper today airlifted a critical women patient suffering from a labour pain from remote Marwah area of Kishtwar District presently cut off due to heavy snow fall in the area. As per the army sources, an army chopper airlifted a pregnant lady namely as Khalida Begum (24 yrs) wife of Bashir Ahmed resident of Marwah to Kishtwar along with an attendant and immediately shifted her to District Hospital (DH) Kishtwar where doctors operated on her and save her life. "The doctors at Marwah advised the family of the lady to shift her immediately to District Hospital (DH) Kishtwar in wake of non availability of specialist doctor as well as the facility at PHC Marwah , but due to heavy snowfall it was not possible to shift patient by road, sources said, adding, "later the family members of the patient approached the local administration and also to Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo who took up the matter with army for evacuation of the lady from Navapachi air strip to Kishtwar. Earlier also, IAF provided the helping hand to the government in shifting the 7 dead bodies of Warwan Tragedy to Kishtwar and Srinagar.
