| Poochal locals rue poor road condition | | | early times report KISHTWAR, Dec 27: People of Poochal village of Kishtwar District situated merely 5 KM from district headquarter rues the poor condition of Kishtwar-Poochal road. The road is full of pits and there is also no drainage system on the either side of the road as a result of which water logging has become a routine matter causing inconvenience not only to the people and the shopkeepers living on either side of the road, but the daily commuters also faces lot of problem due to dust road. The road which is being maintained by the R & B department hardly been looked into the problem and the inconvenience faced by the public. Even though the department black top the road last year, but due to poor quality the black top vanishes from the road and expose it to pit holes. "Whole Poochal village is considered as highly populated area in Kishtwar District having the population of over 5000 souls, but both administration and the government turned blind eye not only towards this road but also in term of other facilities like shortage of drinking water," said Sunil Sharma. He said that people of Poochal in the form of deputation has visited so many time to Deputy Commissioner Office and even held several protest and even block the roads, but added that in return the people only get hollow promises. The drivers operating on the said road also blames the R & B department for their failure in maintaining the standard of the road. "Due to poor condition of the road, all the vehicles operating on this road suffered massive damages and get defected" said a local driver Haqnawaz. 70 year old local resident informed "Early Times" that on the initiative of former R & B Minister Ghulam Mohammed Saroori, the department also started the road widening couple of years ago, but the same was left in mid way due to some unknown reason. |
