ZEO Khaltsi gets national award for 'innovation in education' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 4: Tsering Norboo, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Khaltsi Block of Leh District in Jammu & Kashmir has brought laurels to state besides getting applauds for the teaching fraternity by getting a national recognition to the community during 'National Conference on Innovations in Education Administration' The two day national event was held at national capital on November 28-29 in which shortlisted teachers briefed the panel about their innovations for betterment of education. Union Minister for Human Resources and Development (HRD) Smiriti Irani was the chief guest on the veldictorty occasion in which attended by literary lumaneries and eminent citizens as well, desides delegates from across different states. "It is a matter for pride for the district that we have the nomination for national event from our district and it is because of his hard work which brought the fruit not for him but also for the studenst of remote areas in Khalsi of Leh, said a student from Ladakh pusuing studies in Jammu, "Getting this award is not a cake walk, I have to put a lot of efforts and sincerity in his profession besides getting local support which further has strengthened the social fiber," said the buoyant Tsering Norboo, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Khaltsi Block. "With an aim to enhance community participation in education, I worked on multi pronged programme focused upon Improving the Access to Schools, Gaining Public Trust, Strengthening Community Participation and Monitoring of Construction Works in Schools, he said. He said, "After taking charge as the Zonal Educational Officer (ZEO) worked extensively on the improvement in education across Khaltsi block having 51 schools scattered over a large area with several remote villages." "In a bid to get desired outcome several efforts towards community mobilization were undertaken, he said adding, " gradually these initiatives succeeded in motivating the counsellor and the VEC members of the area for effective participation in school activities, resulting in the completion of all construction works with high quality school buildings and other construction work under SSA. "Meanwhile the initiatives to win the local support also resulted positive and with improved public trust on government accomplished active motivating of public which increased the enrolment of students in government schools, he added. Accrediting his team to make another dream to come true, he said, "Through a joint effort of the education department and the counsellor, an existing Middle School has been converted into a residential school with completely boarding and lodging facilities for 56 children with the contribution of counsellor and villagers towards the expenses for these students and made the residential school functional." Giving a message to teaching fraternity, Mr Norboo said, "Always teach a student by going to his/her mental level as each child has own mind and power of learning - when a teacher does so he/she infact turns to be 'good teacher. |
