Full ECI team to visit J&K on December 6 'Only recognized party representatives to participate in ECI meeting at SKICC' 12/4/2014 11:01:37 PM Bivek Mathur Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 4: The full team of Election Commission of India including the Chief Election Commissioner V.S. Sampath is visiting the poll bound state of Jammu and Kashmir where polling for the third phase is going to be held on December 9. The ECI team shall review the poll preparedness in a meeting on December 6 at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC). "A meeting in this regard will be held at Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) Srinagar where 3 representatives from all recognized national as well as state political parties will be participating", said CEO, Jammu and Kashmir Umang Narula. Narula said that the team will be led by Chief Election Commissioner of India V.S. Sampath and Election Commissioners of India- Harishankar Brahma, S N A Zaidi with Deputy Election commissioner Vinod Zutshi will visit the SKICC in Srinagar on December 6where a meeting with the party representatives to discuss the poll preparedness will be held. The meeting will start at 12:45 Am onwards and all the recognized party representatives of regional as well as national political parties including Party Presidents/Party Secretaries/Party Charipersons/Party Conveners are asked to be available at the venue 15 minutes before the beginning of the meeting. "No independent candidate contesting elections from Jammu and Kashmir is allowed to participate in the meeting with the team of Election Commission of India", said Narula. The party representatives of national as well as regional parties of the state are further directed to keep 5 copies of the written memorandums, if any, which the party representatives wish to present to the Election Commission of India regarding the poll preparedness in Jammu and Kashmir.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
