Jammu based contractual lecturers seek CJ's intervention
`Treat us at par with Kashmiri counterparts'

Kishtwar, Dec 4: The Jammu based Collage contractual lecturers alleged that they are facing discrimination and demoralization on part of the state government which is not treating them at par with the Kashmiri counterparts.
While talking to " Early Times", hundreds of Jammu based contractual lecturers said that they were disengaged and are facing court since last more than four months , whereas for the same session; Kashmir based contractual lecturers has been allowed to carry on their service on the ground of similar stay order.
"Despite the fact, we have got stay order for the session 2014-2015 onwards, allowing us to carry on the same position till the permanent appointment will be made by the Higher Education Department or through transfer of permanent faculty member--- while as the than nodal Principal Science college Jammu did not allow us and he (Principal) rejected the High Court order and make new academic arrangement in place of stay order holders" , said Joginder Singh , one of the stay holder and victim of official apathy .
He said that the Government is playing a dirty game with the educated youth of Jammu region by allowing the contractual lecturers of Kashmir region for the same session on similar condition and lingering on Jammu lectures despite the stay of honorable High Court from last six months. Jai Kumar , another contractual victim of allege discrimination maintained that the precious time of their career is getting waste in running from pillar to post for seeking the justice, while the Higher Education Department and Nodal Principal have appointed new contractual lecturers and Teaching Assistants in share violation of Court orders, despite the fact that they even have registered contempt cases against the officials of Higher Education Department and Nodal Principal GGM science College Jammu.
While talking to "Early Times", President Contractual Lecturers Association Jammu Colleges, Kamal Kishore Verma said that State government ruined their future, beside even have no respect towards our judicial system. He said that more than 350 lecturers are being victimized by the Nodal Principal GGM Science Collage (Nutan Resutra) and Higher Education Department.
He said that they have lost faith on the judicial system also as high court is not taking their case seriously as the authorities fail to maintain order of "Status Quo" issued by the court which allows them to retain and work on the same position without applying a fresh for next session.
He said that it is unfortunate on part of the higher education department and Principal GGM Science College who rejected the court order and disengaged all of them. He questioned the duel standard of concerned authorities that why only Jammu based contractual lecturers are facing such victimization whereas their counterparts in the Kashmir are continuing their duties on the basis of same court orders issued by High court of Kashmir. He said that from last six months, their future is on stake and no one in the state are helping them.
All these lectures made an appeal to the Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir to look into the matter personally with the request to provide justice to the Jammu based contractual lecturers , who are facing discrimination even after working for last than 10 years in colleges.
