Cong regains ground in Jammu, gives tough time to BJP | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 4: Congress has regained its ground and is giving tough competition to the BJP in the Jammu region especially in the seats which have gone to the polls. The Congress insiders believe that party will push the BJP to the second spot in the Jammu and could probably confine it to its last tally of 11 seats or even lower than that. "The BJP has been exposed like never before. Its real face has come before the public whom it has been exploiting by abusing Kashmiri leadership but seeking private favours from them. Now, they are infact begging before the Kashmiris and this will work our way," said a senior Congress leader. The BJP is unlikely to open its account in the Poonch district, is nowhere in the scene in the Kashmir and in Jammu plains including Udhampur and Kathua it's likely to suffer from the rebel candidates. BJP is banking solely on the Modi wave and the Congress is cutting it up by showing the report of development of individual MLA in his constituency and also exploiting BJP over its double talk. "The BJP believes only Modi magic can work. But there is difference between Parliament and State elections and more so in the J&K where, two regions have different sensibilities and people know it," said the Congress leader. The Congress also believes that only it can be a natural partner either with the PDP or NC and these parties will never like to align with the BJP, perceived anti-Muslim and this makes the huge difference. "People don't elect just MLAs but also want someone who can deliver and it can be done if the party is in power. The BJP can never form the government in the State or can align with anyone. People have started realising it and also seeing through the game plan of the BJP," said a senior Cong leader. |
