| SHO in VOJ net for allegedly demanding, accepting Rs 1.5 lacs | | | Jammu, Dec 4: State Vigilance Organization Jammu registered an FIR against Inspector Deepak Pathania u/s 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) PC Act 2006 BK for allegedly demanding and accepting Rs 1,50,000/-.
According to a complaint received by VOJ from Banoo w/o Ghulam Ali r/o Jagir Ghordi Ramnagar, a verification conducted by VOJ to enquire into the allegation regarding acceptance of Rs 1.50 lacs as illegal gratification for release of three innocent persons in FIR NO 60/2014 P/S Ramnagar District Udhampur by Inspector Deepak Pathania.
The verification has revealed that in connection with investigation of FIR NO 60/2014 of P/S Ramnagar u/s 302 RPCa number of persons including the three innocent persons namely Koob Ali, Gaav Ali and Tariq Ali were apprehended and there persons were kept in the illegal police custody by the SHO for about one month without reflecting their confinement in daily dairy and in the meanwhile kith and kins of these three persons approached P/S SHO Ramnagar for their release and by abusing his official position the accused SHO coerced the kiths and kins of the these alleged accused in case FIR NO 60/2014 to pay an illegal gratification to the tune of Rs 50,000 for release of each. The verification further found out that that the kith and kins arranged Rs 50,000 each and paid to the same to the SHO as illegal gratification for release of their innocents.
After completion of the investigation the aforesaid commissions/omissions on the part of Deepak Pathania SHO P/S Ramnagar prima-facie disclose commission of offences punishable u/s 5(1) (d) r/w section 5(2) PC Act 2006 and register FIR NO 31/2014. (JNF) |
