Jammu, Dec 4: Brother of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate from Surankote assembly seat was allegedly assaulted by the National Conference (NC) workers in the border town.
As per the complaint made to the police, they said, Mohammed Isaq Khan - a forest department employee and brother of BJP candidate Mohammed Taj Khan - had gone to the market in Surankote yesterday.
"Some NC workers allegedly entered into heated arguments with him and then, allegedly assaulted him in which the BJP candidate's brother wounded," police said, adding that the injured was hospitalized for treatment while a hunt against the absconding persons was launched.
The injured forest department employee has been referred to GMC hospital Jammu for specialized treatment. Police have started investigation in the incident. |
