NCC Republic Day camp begins at Udhampur | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Jan 6: 2070 Cadets including 707 girl cadets are participating in 2015 Republic Day Camp. Addressing media persons, on the eve of inauguration of NCC Republic Day Camp 2015, DG NCC Lt General Aniruddha Chakravarty said that these cadets drawn from 17 NCC Directorates covering all the States and Union Territories of the country. This also includes 101 cadets from Jammu and Kashmir and 160 cadets from North Eastern Region. The cadets are selected through a tough selection process and are Crème de la creme of the NCC. He further said that the cadets attending the camp follow an intense schedule over the month participating in a number of activities like Cultural, National Integration Awareness Programme and Institutional Training Competitions. The aim of the Republic Day Camp is to provide the cadets an exposure to the rich culture and traditions of our nation and the important events that take place in the National Capital during the run up for Republic Day besides projecting to the nation the cherished ideals and capacity of the cadets of the NCC. The camp portrays a reflection of "Mini India". He also informed that Vice President of India will formally inaugurate the NCC Republic Day Camp on January 8, 2015. |
