BSF to give befitting reply to Pakistan: Pathak | | | Javaid Naikoo
Early Times Report
srinagar, Jan 6: As migration along borders continues in Jammu Kashmir, Director General BSF, D K Pathak today said that situation is not good but India will give befitting reply to Pakistan. Pathak said India wants peace provided Pakistan too behaves accordingly and stops hitting civilian areas indiscriminately. He said that there has not been a single act of provocation from the Indian side and added that that the unprovoked firing along the border may be a cover to push in militants into this side of Kashmir. Pathak said that it is possible that Pakistan is keeping its Eastern border volatile to deflect the country's attention from the Peshawar school attack and also said that India and Pakistan last time held talks on January 1, 2014 but since then, Pakistani Rangers refused to accept India's protest note on two occasions. He said that BSF as a professional organization will never target civilian areas, whereas from their side (Pakistan) they invariably target civilian areas along the border. Pertinently as tension continues along the international border, according to reports, number of people abandoning their homes in border villages of Jammu and Kashmir crossed 10,000 number today amid heightened tension following exchange of heavy firing between Indian and Pakistan along the international border. According to official sources 'following the indiscriminate targeting of civilian areas along the international border by Pakistan rangers since yesterday, more people have abandoned their homes close to the border in Samba and Kathua districts and the number of villagers lodged in makeshift accommodations at safer places has crossed around 10,000 mark and their migration remained continue even today also and Pakistani Rangers targeted more than two dozen BSF posts in Kathua and Samba districts on Monday but BSF retaliated effectively to silence Pakistani guns. Pertinently one BSF soldier was killed on Monday when the border outpost manned by him was hit by Pakistani fired mortar shells. |
