JK House woman employee alleges sexual harassment | Approaches internal complaint committee, seeks stern action against superior | | Bashir Assad

Jammu, Jan 6: A woman employee working in JK House Chankyapuri has alleged that a senior officer posted there has been harassing her sexually. Sources told Early Times the woman official has lodged a formal complaint before the internal complaint committee constituted under the provisions of the sexual harassment at Work Place. They said the committee has started preliminary inquiry into the complaint on the directions of the commissioner secretary protocol department B B Vyas. Sources said the woman official in her complaint has alleged that the senior officer would invite her to his room off and on to draw pleasure by invoking intimate passions. The woman official, sources said, has alleged the senior officer would at times take her hand into his hand and start talking about intimate things. "The inquiry committee has initiated a probe and it would refer the case to police if the complaint is found true," sources added. The complainant, they said, has demanded stern action under the law against the accused officer. Meanwhile, an official of the internal complainant committee said that they have received a written complaint from the woman official. He said the committee is probing the matter. He said that police would be asked to register FIR against the officer after ascertaining the facts. |
